Detailed Description:
The expansion valve is an important part of the refrigeration
system and is usually installed between the liquid storage cylinder
and the evaporator. The expansion valve allows the medium
temperature, high pressure liquid refrigerant to be throttled
through it into a low temperature, low pressure wet vapour, the
refrigerant then absorbs heat in the evaporator to achieve cooling.
The expansion valve controls the valve flow rate by changing the
superheat at the end of the evaporator to prevent under-utilisation
of the evaporator area and cylinder bursts.
The role of thermal expansion valve:
The thermal expansion valve is installed at the inlet of the
evaporator and is often referred to as the expansion valve. It has
two main functions:
1) throttling effect: the high temperature and high pressure liquid
refrigerant is throttled by the throttling hole of the expansion
valve and becomes low temperature and low pressure foggy hydraulic
refrigerant, creating conditions for the evaporation of the
refrigerant;
2) Control the flow of refrigerant: the liquid refrigerant entering
the evaporator, after passing through the evaporator, the
refrigerant evaporates from liquid to gas, absorbing heat and
lowering the temperature in the car. The expansion valve controls
the flow of refrigerant to ensure that the outlet of the evaporator
is entirely gaseous refrigerant. If the flow rate is too high, the
outlet contains liquid refrigerant, which may enter the compressor
and cause liquid hammer; if the refrigerant flow rate is too low,
evaporation is completed early, resulting in insufficient cooling
